LIVELIHOOD

Our Livelihood Programs empower specially abled individuals from marginalized communities by providing training, entrepreneurship support, and income-generating opportunities. By fostering self-reliance and financial stability, we help families improve their quality of life and contribute to inclusive, sustainable development across rural and urban regions.

Livelihoods development is crucial for vulnerable communities, women, and differently abled individuals as it empowers them to achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life.

By providing access to skills training, resources, and economic opportunities, these groups can break the cycle of poverty and gain confidence. For women and differently abled individuals, it also fosters gender equality and inclusivity in the workforce.

Economic independence enhances their ability to make decisions, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to society. Moreover, it promotes resilience, reducing dependence on aid and creating sustainable futures for these communities.

METHODOLOGY

Access

Our program starts with a thorough assessment of the individual's current skills, aspirations, and challenges. This helps identify key areas for growth and ensures the program is tailored to meet their specific needs, ensuring a strong foundation for success.

Educate

We provide comprehensive, hands-on training designed to enhance practical skills and knowledge in various sectors. Our education empowers participants to improve their employability, adapt to market demands, and stay competitive in their chosen fields.

Equip

To bridge the gap between learning and implementation, we supply essential tools, resources, and financial support. These provisions ensure that participants are well-prepared to start their livelihood projects or secure meaningful employment.

Empower

Our ultimate aim is to empower participants to take charge of their futures. Through building confidence, independence, and leadership skills, we enable individuals to contribute to their communities while achieving long-term, sustainable success.

OUR PROGRAMS

We provide opportunities for youth to enhance their skills through short term vocational skilling programs and help them find employment opportunities. We strongly believe that youth empowerment will lead to poverty reduction and reduce inequalities faced by youth from underrepresented communities.

Support for Differently Abled Individuals

  • The initiative aimed to provide financial independence for people with disabilities by offering sustainable income through prefabricated petty shop structures, strategically placed in government-approved locations near beneficiaries’ homes.
  • Participants were selected based on business potential and received training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and communication to manage businesses effectively. The prefabricated shops adhered to local regulations, ensuring smooth operations. Beneficiaries now earn Rs. 600 to Rs. 800 every day, improving their financial stability and independence.
  • The program has also challenged societal perceptions of differently abled individuals, showing their ability to contribute to the economy while fostering community interaction. Over the past few years, 15 individuals in Tamil Nadu have been supported, setting a precedent for future initiatives. The success of this inclusive entrepreneurship program highlights how, with proper resources and training, differently abled individuals can achieve financial independence and inspire other organizations to create inclusive opportunities.

Support for Rural Communities

  • Rural communities face poverty, unemployment, and limited services, with many relying on daily wage labour and small businesses. Economic downturns have worsened the situation, making it harder for entrepreneurs and street vendors to survive. Intervention through micro-financing, skills training, and market access is crucial to revitalize these businesses and break the poverty cycle.
  • A needs assessment identified beneficiaries and provided tailored support based on their challenges and skills. Participants received training in business management, financial literacy, marketing, and customer service to help run successful enterprises. The program focuses on revitalizing businesses and creating new micro-enterprises by offering tools and resources.
Networking with local businesses, NGOs, and government schemes connects beneficiaries to additional resources. Continuous support through monitoring, coaching, and counseling helps refine business strategies and promote growth. The program empowers marginalized individuals, fostering self-sufficiency.
  • Livelihood options include agricultural inputs, flour selling, petty shops, street vending, goat rearing, tiffin shops, and sewing machines. Over the years, the program has supported 350+ families across Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, and Rajapalayam, with ongoing support and monitoring.
